Acorn Construction Company began business as a Commercial General Contractor in 1978 in Pueblo, Colorado.  Since that time we have developed an excellent reputation with suppliers, subcontractors and owners.   Doug Houghton, President and founder of Acorn Construction Company is involved with Acorn’s day to day operations, and he oversees the estimating department, the accounting department and the various construction sites.  

Acorn Construction Company is very involved in the Pueblo Community belonging to many organizations such as: Pueblo General Contractor’s Association, The Design-Build Institute of America, the US Green Building Council, The Pueblo Safety and Health Promotion Council, the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, Pueblo Economic Development Corporation (PEDCO) and the Kiwanis Club of Pueblo.

Acorn Construction Company is a CECO Metal Building representative.

Acorn has many dedicated employees.  Most of our employees have been employed by Acorn for over 15 years.  Acorn’s management team that you negotiate with during the start-up phase of the project is the same team that you will work with throughout the entire project.

Brandon Houghton is Acorn’s Chief Estimator and Project Manager.  He has been with Acorn for over 20 years and is a huge asset to our company.  

Melinda Tortessi is Acorn’s in-house CPA.  She also has been with Acorn for 20 years. She manages the office and is involved in tracking project costs from the time an estimate becomes a project to its final completion.

Brad Gall is also an estimator and project manager.  Brad has been with Acorn for 2 years and has proven himself to be a very valuable part of Acorn Construction Company.
